Grand Cayman Beaches
Seven Mile Beach is the most popular holiday region on Grand Cayman Island and is one of the most famous beaches in the Caribbean. Most of the island’s luxury resorts and hotels are located on this 5 ½ mile stretch of beach, along with a number of restaurants and nightclubs.
If you would rather skip the crowds and opt for a little privacy, Cemetery Beach is a good choice. It is less crowded than Seven Mile Beach, but since the island is fairly small, it is still close to resorts and restaurants. The reef is close to the shore of Cemetery Beach, which makes it ideal for snorkeling.
Another good place for snorkeling on Grand Cayman is Stingray City. In addition to beautiful coral reefs and tropical fish, visitors can feed, touch, and swim with over two dozen stingrays, some of which are up to six feet in diameter. No wonder Stingray City is one of the top water attractions in the world.
Boatswain’s Beach Cayman Turtle Farm is another popular destination on the island. This 23 acre marine park features a turtle farm, where visitors can touch and hold turtles weighing from 6 ounces to 600 pounds. Or snorkel along side marine life in the 1.3 million gallon salt water lagoon where you can come face to face, through protective glass, with Predator Reef, which is home to sharks and eels.
Whether you desire to relax on the beach, participate in water sports, come face to face with marine life, or simply take in the beautiful surroundings, you will enjoy every moment on Grand Cayman island.
