Beaches of Bali

Hidden amongst thousands of other islands in southeast Asia, the island of Bali is a tropical paradise where there is a beach available for every occasion. No matter if you are traveling for relaxation, romance, adventure and sports, or for a great nightlife, there is a beach in Bali perfect for you!

Beach, Bali
The city of Sanur on the southeastern side of the island is one of Bali's largest traditional villages and is also one of the island's first resort towns. This beautiful city is only a ten minute drive from the main city Denpasar, where the international airport is, and from the beach, you can see the Sacred Temple of Ratu Ayu of Singgi. The phenomenal long white sandy beach has a foot path that is popular amongst walkers, joggers and cyclers. During low tide, the beach gets really wide and is great for building sandcastles or playing volleyball. Waters are always calm, making it a great beach for sea kayaking and waterskiing, and from the beach you can see the traditional boats of the native fishermen.

Almost exactly on the opposite side of the island, still only ten minutes from the city of Denpasar lies Kuta beach, an incredibly popular destination for tourists. The beach is known as a party beach, and there is always a wealth of activities to do on Kuta. During the daytime, you can find surfers, snorkelers, kayakers, jet-skiiers, windsurgers, parasailers and swimmers covering the beach. When it gets to be dusk, Kuta transforms from a water sports haven to the center of nightlife activities on the island. Watch a traditional Kecak dance performance, go to one of many local pubs, or visit a wealth of boutiques and shops. There is a large variety of delicious restaurants, and Kuta is also home to a wide array of four star resorts, as well as plenty of more affordable accomodations.

Finally, if you are looking for a beach that offers peace, solitude, and a chance to reflect on the meaning of life, head to Jimbaran Beach. Located on the west coast of the island, Jimbaran beach is small and secluded, with fabulous views and incredible sunrises and sunsets. Jimbaran has grown in popularity in very recent years, with more and more hotels popping up all the time. Finally, if you love seafood, Jimbaran offers the best dining experience on the island.
